THE FREE BIRD

Its a story meant to be
Written in gold
About a bird so free
Her wings she never folds
Its flight in the unending sky
Is always interrupted by eyes
That try to pry
Out in the wood
Beyond the seven seas
All places are so good
And at once she takes a flight
No matter be it day or night
Her heart lies there
Far beyond her nest
She even doesn’t know where
She will come to rest
Still she flies...so high

Its so beautiful to see her fly

MY SISTER

First I felt you
I felt something
Something so real
Then I saw you
I felt nothing
Nothing at all.
You were so new to me
Infact to everybody
To your mentor
And your bearer
I then realised the magic of his hands
Who carved a creature
Out of his sands
A perfect form
Of beauty and norm
You were so clueless
And so was I
You wore no dress
But were not at all shy
I loved you from the first sight
And swored to protect you

From every fright.

AN ODE TO NEPAL

After descent of earthquake
From the kingdom of Nepal
Many lives are on stake
Open fields now resemble a kraal
It was a beautiful morning
The calamity took an entry
Without any prior warning
People in constant worries
Shortage of food and water supplies
Those under the debris
Unheard their silent cries
Hard today the government strives
To save the hundreds and thousands of lives
Far away from there I can only say
I join my hands and to the Almighty pray
For safety of those left ravaged

And restoration of all that was damaged

BEST DIAMOND

Undeterred on my path
I know i will make it
To the end
I have realised i am alone
I don’t need a doe
I don’t need a friend
I’ll make myself a stone
You hit me you’ll get hurt
I’ll be left just as i was
You’ll be kicked to dirt
I’ll allow hardships to polish me
Broken threads will make the cuts
I’ll pass the tests of destiny
I’ll shine unlike the rest
I’ll be the brilliant diamond
Which will be owned by me
I’ll be better than the best
Even far than you can see

A QUESTION

You came into my life
Or was it me who walked in?

I walked in through the door
Our eyes met, I don’t regret
I flashed smiles each day I saw you
But didn’t realise it before long
Although it may seem true
I saw you looking at me
But thought it was not so
I didn’t want you to come
Neither did I want you to go
You put your trust in me
And expected from me a lot
I tried my best, worked out day and night
But failed to do so again
To everyone’s fright
I know you were upset
But so was I.
I came to you and talked it out
And then in me began to sprout
A hope that i may one day
Be able to come out of this all
Determined, I got up after my fall
We talked long hours
And texted each other
But I knew already
This won’t last forever
Pressure built up on both sides
And inside me started silent fights
I saw you come
I saw you go
Were you my friend?

I’ll never know

YOU ARE YOU

You are you, someone unique
Having in yourself a special streak.
Everything in you is different
From your foe and your friend
At birth itself you had it in you
Some talent, rare and new,
That set you apart
Quite from the start.
Look inside your heart and mind
To slowly and steadily find,
What is it that lights your way
and changes your night into a day
Don’t be taken in by what others say
What they think might lie your way.

Take your time and discover yourself
And find the joy of knowing yourself
A jasmine can never be a rose
But nevertheless, like no other pleases the nose.
So stop enacting the famous few

For after all, you are you!!

BEAUTY OF NATURE

 Nature is full of beauty
And saving it is our duty
The dancing trees and smiling flowers
The snow clad mountains are all ours
The brightening moon and shining stars
Enlightening the scene in dark hours
The lovely insects among the grass
Like small pellets made of brass
The hot stream and the cooling breeze
Looking at which our eye sights freeze
On the river beds tall stand the maize
Trying their best to divert our gaze
The soothing smell of the wet sand
Filling the air on which we stand

The animals grazing on the pastures
And monkeys on trees
Imitating our gestures
The charming birds flying in the air
Flapping their wings and blowing our hair
With our interference in the scene
The nature is no more clean and green
So let’s pledge to join our hands
To clean our rivers and our sands!
